Veterinarians in Des Moines

Veterinarians look after the health of pets and other animals, from routine checkups and vaccinations to dental work, surgery, diagnostic testing and care for chronic conditions. Many practices also offer wellness exams, allergy treatment, laser therapy and health certificates for travel. When you are choosing one in Des Moines, ask whether they see your type of animal and whether they offer emergency or after-hours care, since that can be hard to find on short notice. Call ahead to ask about new-patient appointment availability, and bring your animal's previous vaccination records so the first visit goes smoothly.
