Mexican restaurants in Des Moines

Mexican restaurants serve sit-down meals, takeout and, often, catering for groups and events. Many offer dishes like enchiladas, carne asada tacos, birria, burritos, flautas, nachos and chilaquiles, and some also have margaritas and seafood on the menu. When choosing one in Des Moines, call ahead to ask whether the dish you want is made in-house, how spicy the salsas run, and whether they cater, since larger parties often need several days' notice. Check the hours on the listing before you go, because some kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Weekend evenings tend to fill up, so book a table or arrive early.
