Property management in Ann Arbor

Property management companies look after rental homes and buildings for owners who would rather not handle day-to-day tasks themselves. Common work includes marketing vacancies, screening tenants, handling leases, collecting rent and arranging repairs. Some also help with student apartments or commercial leasing, so think about what kind of property you have. When choosing a firm, ask how they screen tenants, how they handle maintenance requests after hours, and what their fee covers, such as leasing fees or renewals. Check whether they hold a valid license and ask for references from current owners. Contact several firms before your lease ends or before you plan to list the property, since good managers often fill spring and late summer openings quickly.
