The Coopers Tavern

The Coopers Tavern is a European-style neighborhood tavern known for its craft beer list, with 28 draft taps, and a whiskey list of more than 100 bourbons, American, Scotch and Irish whiskeys. The kitchen serves hearty, rustic food sourced locally where possible, including its well-liked Reuben, an award-winning burger and Amy's spinach salad, along with Belgian frites and beer cheese pretzels.

The tavern is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, bar service and weekend brunch, with happy hour on weekdays from 2 to 5 PM in the dining room. It sits across from the state Capitol, next to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum at the top of State Street. The upstairs room is available for private events and has a view of the Capitol, and gift cards are sold online.
