Monona Bakery & Eatery

Monona Bakery & Eatery is a family-run café known for its baked goods and a menu that blends breakfast and lunch favorites with Honduran and Mexican dishes. The Honduran section features baleadas, pupusas and plato típico, and the Mexican side includes enchiladas, mole and tacos. Pastries are baked from scratch, and the bakery sells a Honduran coffee roasted by Rusty Dog Coffee that is only available there.

The restaurant opened in February 2017 and is run by a family that works the kitchen and dining room together. It sits in a strip mall on Monona Drive in Madison, and the menu includes a few gluten-free and vegetarian options marked on the menu. Breakfast and lunch are served all day in many categories, and the team also offers classes and events.
