BlackHorse Espresso and Bakery is a coffee shop and bakery known for hand-crafted espresso drinks, teas, freezes and hot chocolate, along with pastries and baked goods prepared daily by in-house pastry chef Matthew Mimmack. The coffee is roasted by Spearhead, a Paso Robles roaster, and the menu now includes food alongside the baked goods.
The Broad Street location is in San Luis Obispo and is open every day from early morning into the late afternoon. It is a comfortable spot for studying, meeting friends or relaxing after a hike, and it has newer patio seating. Regulars can sign up for the Silver Card rewards program. The business also has an Uptown location on Higuera Street.
