Childcare & preschool in Oakland

Childcare and preschool businesses look after children while parents work, study or need a few hours to themselves, and many also offer structured learning through play. Depending on the provider, you may find infant and toddler care, preschool programs, music and movement classes, yoga, field trips, and meals and snacks included in the day. When you compare options, ask how the staff to child ratio works for your child's age, and whether they can show you the classroom and outdoor space during a visit. Tour during a normal day if you can, and ask about waitlists early, since spots for infants often fill first.
