Early intervention, preschool and therapy for children with developmental needs320 Pacific Place, Mount Vernon, WA

Skagit Preschool & Resource Center, known as SPARC, is a nonprofit in Mount Vernon that serves children with developmental delays, disabilities, and complex health conditions. Parents of children with severe disabilities founded it in 1964 as a childcare program, and it later grew into a preschool and early support center. Its work centers on neuromuscular and developmental delays, with services running from prenatal support through age 12.
Families can start with the Birth to Three program, which helps sort through questions about a child's development, or the preschool program for children ages 3 to 5. Children's therapy is clinically based and family focused, and most insurances are accepted. Parent to Parent connects families of children with special health or developmental needs with other parents who have similar experiences. The center is in Mount Vernon, and the team can be reached by phone or through a provider referral form.
