ABC Kidcare

ABC Kidcare is a small family childcare program that offers structured, play-based learning for up to twelve children, from infants through kindergarten age. Programs are split by age: infants from six weeks, toddlers, preschool, and a pre-kindergarten year that builds pencil skills, letters, numbers, and focus ahead of kindergarten. Days are built around free play, circle time, projects, outdoor time, and rest. Kidcare Town, a pretend play area, is a favorite with the preschoolers.

The program runs Monday through Friday and has been serving families since 1999. Enrollment works through a waitlist, and only a few spots open each year. Meals and snacks are included under the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program, and a garden and outdoor play spaces are part of the daily routine. The center is on Avon Allen Road in Mount Vernon.
