Street Collective

Street Collective is a Des Moines nonprofit that promotes biking and walking across central Iowa. Its community bike shop sells refurbished bikes and used parts and offers do-it-together repairs at community workbenches. It also runs a public bike share system, gives bikes to kids and families, and teaches bike safety through bike rodeos and adult classes.

The group installs bike racks, provides free bike valet parking at concerts, festivals and community events, and distributes regional trail maps. Its main office is at 506 E 6th Street in downtown Des Moines, and its bike shop is at 1900 Saylor Rd. Donations and volunteers keep the programs running.
