Metro Locksmith

Metro Locksmith is a Des Moines locksmith company that handles automotive, residential and commercial work. Its best-known service is car key work: replacing lost keys, programming transponder and smart keys, and making keyless entry remotes and fobs. The company also handles home lock and key jobs, from picking locks to working on vintage hardware, and commercial jobs such as lock systems and master key systems.

Service is mobile. The company's vans bring a shop to the customer, so a stranded driver or a locked-out homeowner does not have to tow the car. Metro Locksmith says it answers the phone seven days a week, with office hours Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings and afternoons. It serves Des Moines and nearby suburbs including Urbandale, West Des Moines, Ankeny and Waukee. The owners still work jobs themselves, and the company traces its roots to two older local locksmith businesses.
