Drake University

The Drake University Student Health Center operates inside Broadlawns Community Clinic at Drake and serves full-time Drake students. Two medical doctors, one physician assistant and one nurse practitioner handle everyday medical concerns, basic physical exams, STD testing and treatment, allergy injections, women's health care and family practice support. The center also helps students connect with local physicians and hospitals when more care is needed.

Most visits are free, though lab work and some medications are billed to the student or the student's insurance. Appointments are recommended, and cancellations must be made at least two hours ahead. Students who arrive 10 minutes or more late need to reschedule. Students who need care after hours are directed to local clinics and hospitals, and the center is at 2970 University Avenue in Des Moines.
