Carolina Isshinryu Karate Academy

Carolina Isshinryu Karate Academy teaches traditional Okinawan karate in Apex, with a focus on kata, kobudo and practical self-defense. Classes build striking, blocking, awareness and conditioning, and the program is open to students ages 10 and up, so parents and kids can train side by side. The approach stresses humility, good judgment and restraint alongside technique.

The academy works without long contracts, belt fees or testing fees, and a free trial class can be requested through the website. Weekly classes run Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, with optional practice before the Monday and Wednesday sessions. Family discounts are offered. The dojo is in Apex and draws students from Cary, Morrisville and the wider Raleigh area.
