Bookstores in Virginia

Pick your town

Bookstores on this page help you find new and used books, place special orders for titles that are not on the shelf, and pick up gift cards for readers on your list. Many also take book trade-ins or offer consignment, so you can sell books you have finished, and some host private events. Listings are grouped by town, including Richmond, Hampton, Mechanicsville, Newport News and Norfolk, so you can stay close to home. Before you visit, call ahead to confirm hours and ask whether the shop carries the title or service you need, such as special orders or trade-ins. Check the listing for directions and any current offers, so the trip is worth the drive.
