Basilio Inn

Basilio Inn is an Italian restaurant on Staten Island that has been serving classic dishes since 1921, making it the borough's oldest restaurant. The menu covers hand-made pastas such as bucatini all'amatriciana, pappardelle with fresh tomatoes and goat cheese, and gnocchi with shrimp in brown butter, along with seafood entrees like grilled branzino and shrimp in brandy sauce, plus veal, chicken Marsala and pork ossobuco. Appetizers include fried zucchini, mussels in white wine and fritto misto.

The restaurant occupies a historic carriage house with a garden setting, a grape arbor and bocce courts, and it has a full bar. Dinner runs Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and it is closed Mondays. It usually closes from the second week of January to the first week of March, so calling ahead is wise.
