Athletic Edge Sports Center

Athletic Edge Sports Center is a children's sports school on Nassau Place that runs recreational gymnastics, judo, jujitsu and martial arts classes. Recreational gymnastics meets weekly for kids ages 5 to 18 and covers vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor, tumble track, trampoline and rope climbing, with a focus on confidence, coordination and balance. Private lessons let a child work on a specific skill one-on-one with a coach.

Families can try a class for free with no commitment before signing up, and the registration fee is discounted for new members. Birthday parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays, and Friday night Kids Night Out gives parents an evening off. A second location, The Edge, is on South Avenue in Staten Island, and the center also offers summer camp and space rentals.
