Free science museum with planetarium and OMNIMAX theater5050 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, MO

The Saint Louis Science Center is a free science museum with exhibits, a planetarium, an OMNIMAX theater and a rotating set of hands-on galleries. Visitors can explore areas such as Earth Sciences, Energy, Life Science Lab, a makerspace and the Discovery Room, and the center also runs preschool science series, summer STEM camps and public telescope viewings. The ExploreStore gift shop in the main lobby sells educational products, games and apparel, and the Science Café and Cup & Cone serve light food.
Entry to the center is always free, and the main entrance is at 5050 Oakland Avenue. The planetarium is reached from a separate entrance on Clayton Avenue in Forest Park. Some exhibits and spaces may be closed on a given day, so checking the daily schedule or calling ahead is a good idea before a visit. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the stores.
