Pottery classes, memberships and gallery space in San Francisco1045 Sutter St, San Francisco, CA
SMAart is a pottery studio and gallery offering wheel throwing, hand building, sculpture and Raku classes for all skill levels, along with firing services in cone 5 oxidation, cone 10 reduction and Raku kilns. Its studio space covers more than 10,000 square feet, and it runs team-building events, birthday parties and private clay sessions.
New students can try a one-day workshop or sign up for four- or six-week classes. Members get 24-hour studio access, firing discounts and space to store their work, and the Sutter Street gallery shows work from members and invited artists. Its two San Francisco studios are on Sutter Street in Lower Nob Hill and on 24th Street in the Mission District, and the Sutter location handles the higher-temperature firings.
