The Nest

The Nest is a secondhand clothing shop and tailoring studio that works to cut down on textile waste. Its secondhand shops sell used clothing, and its tailoring and mending services, slow fashion events and workshops, and textile recycling programs are all part of the same effort. The shop also carries a small range of garment care products, including laundry detergent for workout clothes, cedar moth blocks, a delicates wash bag and leather saddle soap.

The Nest has a location at 272 Carpenter Street in Providence and a second shop in Newport. Donations are accepted in the Providence shop for clean clothing in any condition, along with shoes and belts, and the store also offers gift cards, sewing classes and clothing swaps. Its heirloom bridal showroom is another part of the business.
