Books on the Square

Books on the Square is an independent bookstore on Angell Street in Providence, carrying a broad mix of new titles with a strong focus on horror, literary fiction, and children's books. Staff picks are displayed throughout the store and online, and the shop also runs a Lavender Lit Club and a rewards program.

The store sells gift certificates, runs a used book program and a consignment program, and works with schools and libraries. Shoppers can browse the online catalog for books, audiobooks, and merchandise, and the shop hosts author events. Hours are Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday and Saturday until 8 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM. Since 1992, the shop has been a fixture of the Providence bookstore scene.
