Solo Italiano Restaurant

Solo Italiano Restaurant serves authentic Northern Italian cooking built around Genovese traditions. Executive chef Paolo Laboa, who won the 1992 Best Young Chef in Italy award and the 2008 Pesto World Championship, sources produce, fish, game and meats from local farms and fishers, and makes its breads and pastas in house from scratch. The menu leans on simple preparations that let the ingredients stand out. In 2025 the restaurant received two forks from Gambero Rosso International.

Dinner is served in-house Tuesday through Sunday, with the kitchen open later on Friday and Saturday evenings. Monday is closed. Reservations can be made through the website, and the restaurant also offers gift certificates and event booking. The restaurant is on Commercial Street in Portland, near the waterfront.
