Good Theater

Good Theater is a professional nonprofit theater company that stages plays, musicals, cabarets and holiday concerts, and is the largest employer of Maine-based theater artists. The company was founded in 2001 by Brian P. Allen and Stephen Underwood and runs a season of main stage productions along with special events and concerts. Its season is currently listed as running from October through April.

Good Theater performs at the Stevens Square Theater on the former McAuley High School campus at 631 Stevens Ave in Portland, after many seasons as theater-in-residence at The Hill Arts. The company also books and manages all performances at the venue, and it rents space there and offers actors workshops. Volunteers are needed for ushering, the box office, advertising and poster distribution.
