Bread & Friends

Bread & Friends is a bakery and restaurant known for naturally leavened sourdough, milled in house, along with laminated pastries and seasonal shared plates. The bakery mills most of its flour on site and bakes in a wood-fired oven. Brunch blends American classics with Japanese and Mediterranean influences, while dinner centers on hand-made pasta and wood-fired meats, paired with a natural wine list.

Brunch is walk-ins only, and some brunch items are available for takeout with same-day online orders. Dinner takes reservations through OpenTable for groups of 16 or fewer and saves space for walk-ins in the dining room and on the sidewalk patio. Bread and pastries can be pre-ordered online up to a day ahead, and larger bakery orders go through catering. The restaurant is on Fore Street in Portland's Old Port.
