Toshia Thompson runs Beyond Your Hair Trichology Spa and Savvy the Salon in Oakland, a hair-loss practice and a salon under one name. The hair-loss side focuses on finding the root cause of hair loss, hair thinning and scalp disorders, using a holistic approach that looks at hormonal, nutritional and stress factors alongside treatment. The salon offers haircuts, styling, hydration, color and tape-in extensions for women with relaxed and natural hair.

Hair health consultations can be booked in person or virtually, and the salon takes appointments as well. Gift certificates and payment plans are available.
