Pipe Spy

Pipe Spy is a licensed plumbing contractor that specializes in trenchless sewer line repair and replacement, working on private sewer laterals and main lines for homes and businesses. Camera inspections come first, and the crew often recommends pipe lining or pipe bursting through one or two small access pits rather than a full trench. Its plumbers also handle basic residential plumbing while they are on site.

The phone line is staffed around the clock, so backups and active leaks can get a priority slot, often the same day or the next. Routine camera inspections and compliance tests tied to a home sale usually fit within a few days, and escrow deadlines are prioritized when mentioned up front. The company works with both the EBMUD and Berkeley lateral compliance programs and offers free estimates. Founded in 1998 by Heiko Dzierzon and Paul Cooper, it is based in Oakland.
