In The Groove Studios

In The Groove Studios teaches hip hop, house, Chicago footwork, jazz funk, vogue and K-Pop dance classes, with instructors who bring professional experience. The studio has operated since 2010 and aims to help each student grow toward the dancer they want to become, whether that means working in the industry or simply taking a regular class. The atmosphere is meant to feel fun rather than intimidating.

Students can pick from a range of classes and set their own pace. The studio also has four rooms that can be rented for personal classes, rehearsals and events, with rates available on request. It hosts workshops with visiting choreographers, and event bookings are non-refundable once made. Visits are by appointment, and the studio is at 605 9th Street in Oakland. Inquiries work best by email or Instagram message, since no phone number is listed.
