East Bay Dance Center

East Bay Dance Center is a nonprofit dance studio offering classes for preschoolers, children, teens and adults, along with camps, afterschool programs, birthday parties and public performances. Its stated mission is to expose students to dance as performance art through training and public shows, helping students build confidence and life skills. The studio hosts free community events during the year, including a Halloween show, a Nutcracker tea party and a winter ball.

The studio is at 1318 Glenfield Avenue in Oakland. Families can take a trial class before enrolling, and the staff is glad to take calls from prospective families. Studio space can also be rented, and the center is building a community garden.
