Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center

Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center is a physician-owned dermatology practice founded in 1987 by Dr. Douglas Nelson and Dr. Susan Mackel. Its board-certified dermatologists provide general medical dermatology and Mohs surgery, the method used to remove basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers. The practice also offers cosmetic treatments, including microneedling and treatments for acne and redness.

The practice is accepting new patients, but general dermatology appointments are currently booking well into the future, so calling early helps. Teledermatology visits by video or digital photo upload are available for patients who cannot come to the office. There are two locations, one in Newport News and one in Williamsburg, and the practice has received several Coastal Virginia Best Of awards.
