Childcare & preschool in Newport News

Childcare centers and preschools look after children while parents work, study or need a break, and many offer structured learning along with supervision. Depending on the provider, you may find infant and toddler care, pre-school programs for children getting ready for kindergarten, before and after school care for school-age children, meals and literacy activities. When you call, ask about the adult-to-child ratio for your child's age group, how staff are trained and screened, and what a typical day looks like. Visit during operating hours if you can, and check whether the center is licensed. Many programs fill quickly, especially for infants, so ask about waitlists early.
