Vispring New York

Vispring New York is the authorized Vispring retailer for New York City, with a showroom in SoHo. The shop sells handmade pocket-sprung mattresses, divans and headboards, built to each customer's specifications from natural materials. Vispring credits its founder, James Marshall, with inventing the pocketed spring in 1901, and the springs are still made the original way, wound by hand and individually wrapped in natural calico.

Visits are by personalized appointment, where staff help shoppers compare models and choose fabrics and legs. The store also carries bedding, mattress toppers and accessories, and runs trade and hospitality programs. Every Vispring mattress comes with a 30-year warranty with no prorating.
