Products of Design

Products of Design is the MFA product design master's program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The two-year, STEM-certified program focuses on three-dimensional product design alongside craft, cultural fluency, and entrepreneurship, and it accepts students with a bachelor's degree, including those without a design background.

Students work in the Visible Futures Lab, a makerspace with more than 1,000 tools, from hand tools to 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC routers. The program runs an annual partnership to design products for the Museum of Modern Art's product development division, and each year's graduating class presents thesis work at a showcase. Prospective students apply through the School of Visual Arts, and the program starts in the fall only.
