Free Spirit Counseling

Free Spirit Counseling is a therapy practice focused on addiction recovery, trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions. Its work centers on substance use and recovery, including alcohol and compulsive behaviors, with an emphasis on the pain underneath the behavior. Trauma-focused care uses EMDR and Internal Family Systems, and the practice also draws on DBT, CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Sessions are offered virtually across Texas or in person in New Braunfels, at the North Union Avenue office. Prospective clients can ask whether a specific therapy is offered, and the intake form asks about insurance coverage and whether they prefer in-person or online meetings. The practice is led by a licensed clinical social worker who describes a broad set of therapeutic tools.
