Spruce Tree Music & Repair

Spruce Tree Music & Repair sells new, used and vintage stringed and fretted instruments, including guitars, mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, violin family instruments, harps and dulcimers. The repair shop came first and remains the core of the business, and the staff uses that repair experience to evaluate every instrument they sell. The shop also handles restoration, appraisals, consignment and trade-ins, and it buys instruments outright.

The shop is on East Johnson Street in Madison, in an older commercial district that has been home to the business since 1984. Hours are weekday and Saturday daytime, and the shop is closed Sundays. Customers can check the current selection and specials on the shop's website, and the store also sells T-shirts and hand-printed posters.
