Music stores in Madison

Music stores help people find, buy, rent and repair instruments, and many also carry method books, school music supplies, accessories and gifts. If you are a beginner or a student, ask whether the shop rents instruments and whether rental payments can go toward a purchase later. Before you buy used or vintage gear, ask whether the shop offers appraisals, since a written appraisal can help with insurance or a fair price. Call ahead for repairs and setup appointments, especially before school term starts, when shops in Madison tend to get busy.
