Red Caboose Child Care

Red Caboose is a nonprofit child care center in Madison that has served families since 1972, making it one of the oldest independent centers in the city. Its preschool program focuses on play-based learning, language and social skills, and growing self-confidence and independence. The center also runs an after school program with quiet play, reading, outdoor play and field trips, plus a summer camp called Camp Caboose.

Tuition is set on a sliding scale based on family income, and nutritious meals and snacks are included and prepared in-house. The center is at 2346 Winnebago St on Madison's east side, and families can schedule a tour to meet the teachers. School-age children are also served at Lapham and Marquette locations.
