A Taste of Kentucky

A Taste of Kentucky is a gift shop built around Kentucky-made food and goods, with a strong focus on bourbon. Its bourbon balls, bourbon barrel cake, Derby-Pie and bourbon caramels sit alongside Kentucky Derby souvenirs, art, home decor and cocktail mixers. Many of its items come as ready-made gift baskets and sampler boxes, which suit hosts, weddings and corporate clients.

The shop has been around for over 40 years. Karen and Rob Taylor bought it in 2023 and run it as a family business on Shelbyville Road. Shoppers can browse in the store or order online, and gift cards and corporate orders are available. Some heat-sensitive treats ship early in the week so they arrive fresh. Weekday hours run until 7 PM, and the shop is open Sunday afternoons.
