Sushi, ramen and Japanese comfort plates in Escondido
Slow-cooked guisados on house-made tortillas707 S. Escondido Blvd, Escondido, CA
Mesa Agricola is a counter-service restaurant serving slow-cooked guisados on house-made flour or corn tortillas. The cooking draws on chef Juan González's Baja California roots and on pre-Hispanic techniques, with seasonal produce from the restaurant's own farm in Valley Center and other Southern California farms. Farmer Megan Strom founded the project with him.
The space has limited seating and does not take reservations, so plan on ordering at the counter. It is open Wednesday through Sunday, and the restaurant is on South Escondido Boulevard in Escondido.
