West End Architectural Salvage

West End Architectural Salvage is an antique and vintage store known for architectural salvage, the historic pieces pulled from homes and buildings slated for demolition. Four floors of antiques, vintage finds and salvage pieces from around the world fill the shop, and the team also builds custom furniture for homes and businesses. Founder Don Short started the business about 20 years ago with a salvage sale in Des Moines.

The building sits on the corner of 9th and Cherry in downtown Des Moines, and the stock changes daily, so regulars come back to see what is new. Shoppers can grab a coffee or a glass of wine in the shop's coffee bar.
