The story

Walnut is a bar and restaurant at 1417 Walnut St in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, with a menu available through online ordering. It is the successor to The Spot, the city's first modern food truck, which started in 2013.

The kitchen closes at 9 PM daily and at 5 PM on Sundays, so late meals need to be ordered earlier in the evening. Happy hour runs from 3 to 5 PM Tuesday through Friday with $1 off all beverages. Street parking is available nearby.
