Over The Top Ice Cream

Over The Top Ice Cream is a family-owned ice cream shop in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, just outside Des Moines. It makes super premium ice cream with ingredients sourced from local Iowa dairies and small businesses, and offers a rotating menu of more than 25 flavors, along with non-dairy and vegan options made fresh each week. The shop has won national ice cream awards, including several Blue Ribbon honors from the National Ice Cream Clinic.

The shop is open year round, daily at noon with weekend hours ending a bit earlier. A private party room seats up to 28 people for birthdays, showers and sundae bar or ice cream tour parties, and ice cream cakes and novelties are available. Gift cards can be bought on the website, and online ordering is offered. Outside seating is available, and the staff is known as friendly.
