Bernardo's Burritos

Bernardo's Burritos is a downtown Des Moines Mexican restaurant known for handcrafted burritos, tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas made fresh daily. The menu includes corn-tortilla tacos with a choice of protein, a large flour-tortilla burrito stuffed with rice and beans, crispy chimichangas, taco salads and enchiladas smothered in red or green sauce. The family-run spot started as a sidewalk taco stand in the early 2000s and grew into a food truck before opening its restaurant.

The restaurant is at 214 4th St and serves lunch Tuesday through Friday and late-night hours Friday and Saturday. Orders can be placed directly or through DoorDash and Grubhub, and the business also caters corporate lunches, parties and events, and can bring its food truck to festivals, block parties and private events. It also has a Saturday stand at the Des Moines Farmers' Market during the season.
