Baratta's Restaurant and Catering

Baratta's is an Italian restaurant on Des Moines' south side, known for classic Italian specialties such as lasagna al forno, steak deburgo and cannolis, along with some American dishes added over the years. The family grew out of a small Italian grocery that once operated from their home near downtown, and the restaurant has been a Des Moines fixture for more than 50 years.

Dinner is served most evenings and lunch on weekdays, and the Family Carryout meals include a traditional dinner with salad and bread. The restaurant also hosts private events in its South Union dining rooms and handles catering for weddings, formal events and large group orders, including delivery.
