Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry

Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is a 130-bed free-standing behavioral health hospital that treats adults and senior adults with mental health disorders and addictions. Its programs include adult inpatient care, a senior inpatient program, a dual diagnosis program for co-occurring addiction and mental illness, and an intensive outpatient program. Care covers crisis stabilization, medication management, group therapy and case management, with conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia and dementia among those treated.

Nurses are on duty around the clock, and the phone line is staffed 24 hours a day. Admissions counselors offer a free, confidential screening and free insurance verification, and families can request information online. The hospital is on Greenlawn Avenue in Columbus and draws patients from about 70 surrounding counties, with a separate outpatient location in Columbus.
