1221 Art Space

1221 Art Space is an art studio for people in recovery, offering a shared making space with access to a wide range of art materials and tools. Members can work freely or collaborate with others, develop and lead their own workshops, and exhibit their work. The studio also offers professional development, including help with pricing artwork, displaying work, gallery experience, and applying for grants and exhibits. The yearly HEART of Concord art showing and market is one of its public events.

Membership is open to adults 18 and older who identify with the recovery community and live in Franklin County, and there is no cost to join. New members complete intake paperwork with a staff member, and sharing details about diagnosis or treatment is optional. The studio is at 1221 East Broad Street in Columbus, has a parking lot with accessible spaces, and is reachable by COTA bus lines 10, 22, and 11. Tours can be scheduled, and the supply room accepts donations of new or gently used art supplies by appointment.
