Ballypines Dog Ranch

Ballypines Dog Ranch is a family-owned dog boarding and daycare facility on more than 20 acres of countryside. Dogs can stay overnight in private climate-controlled cabins or come in for daycare, with outdoor play in fenced pastures, nature trails and supervised group play with compatible dogs. Feeding routines and play schedules are tailored to each dog, and owners receive photo updates during the stay.

All new guests must complete an initial showing before their first stay, which includes a tour of the grounds, a look at the cabins and a temperament assessment with the team. Dogs need to be comfortable with people and other dogs, and proof of rabies, distemper, bordetella, canine influenza and a negative fecal parasite check is required. The ranch is in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Johnstown Road. Rebecca Hirschman took over ownership in 2026 after working as a staff member.
