Il Posto Bistro

Il Posto Bistro is a family-owned Italian restaurant on South Main Street in Canandaigua. The menu centers on housemade pastas, seasonal salads and comforting entrées, with a braised octopus that one reviewer singled out. Chef Chris Ventura leads the kitchen, and his fiancée Wendy Loveless runs the dining room, with their two eldest daughters also on staff.

The restaurant has outdoor seating as well as indoor tables, and reservations are taken by phone. Private parties can get a personalized menu, and the same kitchen handles catering for gatherings around town. Gift cards are available. The restaurant is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and it is closed Wednesdays and Sundays.
