Home for New Beginnings

Home for New Beginnings is a nonprofit working to give children ages 6 to 17 in the Verde Valley who are homeless or separated from their parents a loving, safe home. The goal is a community group home where kids build long-term relationships with stable parental figures and prepare for adulthood. Its social enterprise, Divine Pies, makes homemade pies that are sold at Verde Valley farmers markets and through online orders.

Donations go toward building the group home, and gifts can qualify for an Arizona tax credit. Youth programs include a children's cooking class, a children's garden and career planning. The organization is based in Camp Verde and welcomes volunteers, with a participation survey on its site to help people find a good fit.
