Austin Rowing Club

Austin Rowing Club is a nonprofit rowing and paddling club on Lady Bird Lake, and it describes itself as the oldest rowing club in Texas. Its junior competitive team has raced at the national level, and its Heart of Texas regatta, first held in 1983, draws more than 700 entries. Alongside its rowing programs, the club rents kayaks and stand-up paddleboards and runs guided tours, including sunset bat tours and a downtown paddle to Barton Springs.

Rentals are by the hour, and groups can reserve ahead. Programs range from introductory learn-to-row clinics to junior and masters rowing. There is no parking at the boathouse, so most visitors use the Convention Center garage on East 2nd Street or metered spaces downtown. The club also manages the city's Waller Creek Boathouse.
