Sotherton Tea Room

Sotherton Tea Room serves English afternoon tea in a setting styled like a Victorian stately home, with library and sitting room areas, fine china, polished silver and crystal chandeliers. The full afternoon tea includes finger sandwiches, cranberry scones with clotted cream and jam, and three gourmet sweets, with unlimited loose-leaf tea, including the tea house's own in-house blends. The Queen's Tea Experience adds a quiche tart and a glass of bubbly, and the menu changes monthly.

Full afternoon tea and Queen's Tea seatings need a phone reservation, while the cream tea is walk-in only. Parties of six or more get an automatic 18% gratuity, and credit card payments carry a 1% surcharge. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice for parties of five or more. The tea room also hosts private events such as bridal and baby showers and birthdays, plus Princess and Me Royal Tea family events. Children under 10 are not recommended, and guests are asked to keep young ones in their dining area.
