Mt. Vernon Winery

Mt. Vernon Winery is a small family-owned winery in the Sierra foothills, known for Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah Port, Barbera, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a barrel-fermented Chardonnay. The winery says it is the largest in Placer County and has won medals at the 2026 SF Chronicle Wine Competition, including a double gold for its Petit Verdot Port.

The tasting room is a restored 1950s milk house with gardens overlooking the vineyards. Tasting is open Thursday through Sunday, and visitors must be 21 or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The winery also hosts multi-course Wine Cave Dinners and a summer concert series, and it takes wedding bookings. The winery is in Auburn.
